Description:
The engineer of organization registration is responsible for providing engineer suport for (a) NERC compliance registry issues and response to registration appeals, (b) participating in compliance audits of registered entities where NERC is the compliance monitor, (c) participating on regional entity organization certification audits of registere entities, and (d) managing computer systems the registration, certification, and compliance monitoring group utilize. The engineer of organization registration reports to the manager of organization registration.

Duties/Responsibilities:
• Prepare engineering analysis and recommendations regarding arguments related to appeals of entity registration.
• Prepare in-depth compliance technical engineering reports for submission to the regional entities, the NERC compliance and certification committee, the Board of Trustees Compliance Committee, and regulatory agencies.
• Participate as a team member and/or a subject matter expert on operational entity certification audits conducted by NERC and/or regional entities.
• Project manager and vendor interface representative for compliance registration, certification, and compliance monitoring group computer systems.
• Review records and record-keeping practices of regional entity organization registration and certification programs.
• Assist regional entities in the development and implementation of their organization registration and certification programs.
• Conduct or participate as a team member on compliance audits of registered entities as necessary.
• Prepare reports on the status of regional entity organization registration and certification programs.
• Develop recommendations to enhance consistency among regional entity organization registration and certification programs.
• Provide guidance to improve NERC and regional entity compliance and certification audit processes and procedures.
• Edit and update the NERC organization registration and certification manual as necessary.
• Communicate with regulatory and electric industry trade associations as applicable.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have:

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience with power generation system specialization.
• Ten years electric utility experience in electric systems operation and/or planning.
• Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong skills and experience with computer software applications related to database system operations.
• Ability to creatively analyze and solve complex problems.
• Basic project management skills.
• Outstanding conflict management skills.
• Excellent organization skills.

Additional desired attributes include:

• Experience in analyzing electric system reports and documents for technical accuracy.
• Understanding of electric system engineering technical issues and operations as they relate to the application of NERC reliability standards.
• Experience in performing all phases of operational and programmatic audits.
• Process, program, and procedure design, development, and implementation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
