• Directly supervises Plant Technicians insuring procedures are understood and are being followed to support safe, effective and efficient plant operation and maintenance.
  
• Responsible for determining required employee training and implementing programs to ensure completion of those requirements.
  
• Coordinates activities daily and oversees work of Seminole and contractor personnel to insure compliance with Seminole requirements. Responsible for all site activities after normal working hours and on weekends. Fulfills the position of “person in charge” whenever the Director of Plant Operations, Operations Superintendent, Maintenance Superintendent, and Plant Engineer are not available.
  
• Develops system operational procedures and guidelines for approval by the Operations Superintendent and Maintenance Superintendent. Responsible for the operation of all equipment in the plant to insure safe and environmentally compliant performance of all systems.
  
• Coordinates and participates in daily plant activities with other Senior Plant Technicians.
  
• Conducts first level employee compliant meetings. Recommends actions through “consensus triangle” with management and Human Resources representatives and presents agreed upon resolutions to employees.
  
• Prepares daily and weekly work schedules, monitors employee activities to insure compliance with the determined schedules, and modifies activities to overcome obstacles encountered by employees.
  
• Approves employee time sheets and requests for paid time off and changes in work schedule including scheduling of vacations.
  
• Orders required parts or chemicals to maintain plant operation thru corporate software and contacts with vendors as required.
  
• Supervises plant fire brigades as necessary and acts as incident commander for plant emergencies. Works as plant contact for any on-site rescue or emergency response activities (fire department, sheriff’s office, etc.).
  
• Trains employees in operations, maintenance, and administrative procedures and practices as well as plant systems and equipment training. Recommends modifications and/or additions to the existing training programs to the Operations Superintendent and Maintenance Superintendent.

• A high school diploma or equivalent. Engineering or related degree or equivalent training is desirable.
  
• Requires (10) ten years of combined experience in a maintenance craft and in operations of combustion and steam turbines.
• Minimum of (3) three years experience in plant operation and (1) one maintenance craft is required.
  
• Requires the knowledge, skills and ability to lead a high performance multi-skilled team in the operation and maintenance of a combine-cycle power generation plant.
• Requires excellent technical and people skills to provide direction for a group of multi-craft skilled employees.
• Requires strong written and oral communications skills.
• Prior supervisory experience is desirable.
  
• Required to work in all areas of the plant site, both indoors and outdoors. Rotating shift work required. Some travel required.
• Work in confined spaces and at heights greater than 200 ft required.
• Work with high temperature, high pressure steam and water systems as well as high pressure air and fluids is required.
• Work with chemicals is required.
